This document has not been reviewed by a lawyer and does not yet bind anyone. It sets out the structure the finished document will follow, so the product can be built against it. Do not rely on it, and do not launch to the public until it has been replaced.
The principle
This site exists because people buy and sell better when they can see the evidence. That only works if what members tell each other is true.
Describe things honestly
- Answer the condition questions truthfully. They drive the price, and a wrong answer is a misrepresentation, not an oversight.
- Disclose faults, repairs and missing parts up front. It costs you less than a buyer discovering them at the meetup.
- Do not relist an item as new condition after a buyer returned it.
Deal in good faith
- Turn up when you say you will, or tell the other person as early as you can.
- Honour the agreed price. Renegotiating at the meetup, after someone has travelled, is how this place gets a reputation.
- Only mark a deal complete if it actually completed. Both sides confirm, and that is what makes the reputation numbers here worth reading.
Treat people decently
- No harassment, threats, or abuse — in messages, offers, or listings.
- No discrimination on the basis of who someone is.
- Do not impersonate staff, another member, or another marketplace.
What happens when this is breached
Depending on severity: a warning, a listing removed, or an account suspended. Serious cases — anything involving safety, theft, or a threat — go straight to suspension and, where appropriate, to law enforcement.
