Draft — not in force
This policy has not been reviewed by a lawyer and does not yet bind anyone. It sets out the structure the finished document will follow, so the product can be built against it. Do not rely on it, and do not launch to the public until it has been replaced.
What we collect
- Your account: email address, display name, and whatever area and postal code you choose to give us.
- What you publish: listings, offers, deals, and messages.
- What you save: saved items and price watches.
- Technical: an anonymous cookie identifying your browser, and standard request logs.
Why
- To run the marketplace — showing your listings, routing offers, letting the two sides of a deal find each other.
- To send you the emails you asked for: a price watch hitting its target, an offer landing on your listing.
- To keep the place safe — moderation, fraud signals, and acting on reports.
- To meet our legal obligations.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not put your email address into an analytics product. Postal codes are used to work out approximate distance and are never shown to another member as a precise location.
How long we keep it
- Marketplace observations from other sites: 12 months.
- Dismissed reports and cancelled deals: 24 months.
- Completed deal history: retained while your account exists, because it is the basis of the reputation both parties rely on.
- Your account: until you delete it.
Your rights
You can export everything we hold about you as a single file, and you can delete your account, from your profile page. Deleting an account removes your profile, saved items and price watches, and withdraws your listings; a completed deal’s record stays so the other party’s history remains coherent.
Depending on where you live you may have further rights — access, correction, portability, objection. [Regional specifics and the DSAR process TO BE COMPLETED BY COUNSEL.]
Who else sees it
We use sub-processors to run the service: hosting, database, email delivery, and the marketplaces we fetch prices from. [Full sub-processor list and data-processing agreements TO BE COMPLETED before launch.]
