Draft — not in force
This document has not been reviewed by a lawyer and does not yet bind anyone. It sets out the structure the finished document will follow, so the product can be built against it. Do not rely on it, and do not launch to the public until it has been replaced.
What we are
True Market Prices is a venue. We host listings and provide pricing information. We are not a party to any transaction between a buyer and a seller, we do not take possession of any item, and we do not handle payment — deals here are settled directly between the two people involved.
That means we cannot recover your money or your goods if a deal goes wrong. It also means the safety guidance is not boilerplate: it is the actual protection available to you.
Prices are estimates
Every price we show is an estimate built from the market evidence available at the time. It is not an appraisal, it has no standing for insurance, tax or legal purposes, and it is not a promise of what you will pay or receive. Where we do not have enough evidence, we say so rather than guessing.
Using the service
- You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.
- One account per person. Accounts may not be sold or transferred.
- You are responsible for what you publish, and for having the right to sell it.
- Do not list anything on the prohibited items list, and do not misrepresent what you are selling.
- Do not use the service to harass anyone, to scrape it at scale, or to interfere with its operation.
Suspension
We may suspend or remove an account or a listing that breaches these terms or our guidelines. We keep a record of every such action. Where a listing is taken down you will be told, and you can appeal.
Liability
[TO BE DRAFTED BY COUNSEL — limitation of liability, disclaimer of warranties, indemnity, and the governing-law and dispute-resolution clauses. These are the provisions that most need a lawyer and least belong in a placeholder.]
Intellectual property and takedowns
If you believe something here infringes your rights, contact our designated agent with the details required by the DMCA. [Agent name and address TO BE REGISTERED with the US Copyright Office before launch.] We will act on valid notices and tell the affected member.
Changes
We will tell you when these terms change materially, and ask you to accept the new version before continuing to use the service.
